What’s up shredders?!?
It’s that time of year where everyone is back to school and fall is in the air (although it’s been in warmer again, so it feels like we’re back in summer…ha, ha!). We wanted to bring a few important things up for you to be aware of and be in the know so you don’t miss out, as well as see if you’re able to help us be successful once again this season. BTW – Did you hear that we were awarded as the 3rd most growth for all the series this past season? Although we don’t care as much about the numbers, it does help us stay afloat as a nonprofit, and it means we’re reaching + building into more kids, athletes, families, mountains and the communities.
USASA MEMBERSHIPS: The early bird discounts for athletes are available now…BUT they go up October 1 (Tuesday)! Take advantage and save some $$$ by going to
www.USASA.org. This is the first phase of the new website they have as well, so enjoy! PLEASE NOTE: Coaches, Staff/Volunteers and Athletes 18+, you need to purchase both US Ski & Snowboard + USASA appropriate memberships. You can get your US Ski & Snowboard memberships done now, and complete your online Safe Sport classes (required), get your background checks in and all the req’d that you need for the season so it’s out of the way. Once this is complete with US Ski & Snowboard, all you will need to do is get your USASA membership once that’s is available and open for us. Remember that background checks can sometimes take a few weeks, so the sooner the better. Watch for emails and updates from the USASA National Office as well.
SEASON SCHEDULE for 2024/2025 is in the works, and we met with Mt. Bachelor two weeks ago, so we should have those over in the next month or so. We will more than likely be impacted to some degree with Mt. Bachelor being for sale (as we’ve ll probably heard by now), but are unsure how, and to what degree. For now, it sounds like we’re moving forward as usual, and again, we’ll send out updates as needed. We’re also hoping to get on other mountains too, so if you know anyone at Hoodoo, Willamette or Ashland, please connect us.
SPONSORSHIP PARTNERS: Thank you to all our past sponsors (see below), and here’s hoping for another solid support year of both product + funds. Our series is known to have some of the best giveaways in the nation, so if you have any connections, please make the intro for us and send us who to contact ASAP please. We’re also looking for local businesses that we can support and promote on social media, so likewise with them so we can reach out. And don’t forget to tag product sponsors in your social posts since they often see them and use that to gauge what they’ll do or not do this next season.
FUNDRAISING: We’d love to form a small committee to help us do some basic fundraising so we can try to keep the fees down as much as possible, help pay to be on the mountains (yes, this does cost us), etc., so if you’re interested, please let us know.
We will reach out with more updates or changes in due time, but that’s all for now. If anyone has any questions about the upcoming season, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Cheers + shred soon, 🏂☃️⛷️
