Launch Day for COUSASA Event Registrations!

20 Nov by Adam Brown - Central Oregon USASA

Today is finally here!!! 🎉 As we mentioned in our long update on Team App yesterday (please read that in its entirety if you haven’t already: https://centraloregonusasa.teamapp.com/articles/8785037.html), both our series and the Hood Series are opening our online registration at 6 pm TONIGHT to help eliminate the overload of traffic that USASA experiences. Again, read yesterday’s update for even more details, and here’s a few additional bullets and info to be aware of:

1️⃣ MEMBERSHIP: Get your USASA Membership (BEFORE trying to register for events) here: www.usasa.org and click “Join Now” and follow the steps.

2️⃣ REGISTRATION: To register for our series’ events, go here: www.liveheats.com/usasaco (or if you’re already in LiveHeats, simply search for our series (or whatever series you’re interested in): USASA Central Oregon.

3️⃣ EVENT CAPACITY: Our events will be capped based on the # of athletes below. Registration will close when that number is reached, or on the Thursday at noon before that weekend’s event…whichever comes first.
• Rail Jam: 100 athletes
• Slopestyle: 100 athletes
• BX/SX: 100 athletes

4️⃣ NATIONALS: Why talk about Nationals now? Because many like to try and qualify, and it’s better to know now than be too late later. There’s a few ways to qualify for Nationals (see the Rule Book for all the details).

One way is by being the Regional Champion for your age group and discipline in your home series. This requirement is determined by each series, but you’ll have to do the required amount of events in your “home” series in order to try and qualify (see below for our req’s), and it’s based on your best results for those required amounts of competitions from your home series. The other way is by your overall national ranking from your 3 best results during the season from any series, and USASA has a certain amount of athletes they allow for each discipline. See the USASA Rule Book for those details.

Our COUSASA Regional Champion Requirements:
• Slopestyle: Best 2 of 3
• Rail Jams: Best 5 of 6
• Boardercross / Ski Cross: Best 2 of 2
• Halfpipe: TBD due to extenuating circumstances

5️⃣ BIBS: We’re using the same bibs as last season, and your competitor profile will be updated with the bib that you were given (or the replacement bib if you had to purchase another one last season). When registering for competitions online, your bib # from last year will automatically be assigned to you. Please ensure ahead of time that this is the same # that you have, since we often drop riders by their bib #’s and this keeps things flowing on event days.

If you’re a first-time member to USASA, you’re provided with a bib to use FREE of charge, and this is part of the membership process. Your bib will be given to you at our first event at check-in, usually at the lower level of the West Village lodge the morning-of.

ALSO, if you’re traveling to another series before competing in our series, please connect with us prior to get your bib.

Lastly, if you have a different bib # than what’s online, please send us an email/text ASAP adam.brown@usasa.org or 541-797-9969 with the rider’s full name and # you have. If you lost your bib or can’t find it, you will need to purchase a new bib through your home series’ TeamApp > click the “Purchase Bib” button, and we’ll have it at our next event. Please note that there are no bibs allowed from previous years (except last seasons’) or Nationals.

6️⃣ REFUNDS: Please be aware of the USASA Event Refund Policy – https://archive.usasa.org/resources/refund-policy

That’s all for now…good luck, be safe, spread kindness, and we’ll see you on the hill at Mt. Bachelor sooner or later!
