We have an amazing weekend of dual comps with our brother (sister?) USASA Hood Series WITH our local series’ comps: USASA Halfpipe 1 by Hydro Flask (Sat) AND USASA Slopestyle 2 by Hydro Flask at Woodward Bachelor (Sun)! These events will be at Mt Bachelor / Woodward Bachelor. All ages and stages of riding abilities are welcome, and 9 & under and adaptive FREE event entry (Membership req’d)! Slopestyle courses consist of jumps and terrain park/rail type features that are built so beginner, intermediate AND advanced riders are be able to shred! Halfpipe will be approx 18-22’ (being built now, not ready until Sat for our comps). Prizes for EVERY competitor; Awards for 1st – 3rd. Save $ on events by registering online before NOON the Friday before that weekend’s comps…see below for more details!
IMPORTANT: If you’re looking to maximize points, or just want to compete in all the comps and have fun, be sure to register for both of our Central Oregon USASA comps:
https://cos.usasa.org/ AND both of the Hood Series’ comps:
https://mhs.usasa.orgHaving both series together will be new and awesome, so this is how it’ll work so you have an idea: We’ll run both series’ comps simultaneously on the same course. This means all competitors will be able to compete in two separate events (of the same discipline) on the same day, and get both in-series AND out-of series points (IF you register for all the comps). We will run the events in heats with two panels of judges to keep the flow going. The heat’s age groups will not overlap so there will be no conflict between the two comps. For example, in Slopestyle, each series will have two heats. Heat 1 will be Breaker Division and under (13 & under); Heat 2 will be Youth Division and up (14 & older). So Central Oregon Series will run Heat 1 first, while the Hood Series will run Heat 2 first with us, and we’ll rotate dropping riders from each of these heats. Then the heats will switch so we’ll run Central Oregon Series’ Heat 2, with Hood Series’ Heat 1. Again, this will permit competitors who sign up for both events to do four runs in a row and get scored for two seperate competitons/series. Take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for both Central Oregon Series’ AND the Mt. Hood Series’ Slopestyles AND Halfpipe comps this weekend:
https://cos.usasa.org/ AND
https://mhs.usasa.orgWHO NEEDS TO CHECK IN BESIDES COMPETITORS? ALL media, coaches, judges and volunteers must sign in at registration (esp anyone wanting access to be on course – which we limit for safety/liability reasons). You must sign-in AND sign necessary waivers if not a current USASA Member/Coach/Judge/Official already, AS WELL AS sign a Mt. Bachelor waiver (unless you have a current season pass).
Slopestyle events are located in the Events Arena (skier’s left/looker’s right) of the Pine Marten lift (you can see courses from the lodge), and registration will be at the main lodge (West Village Lodge), usually downstairs in the Caldera area (look for signage)…but sometimes upstairs…so keep up via our Facebook Events by clicking “Going.”
> EVENT COST: $30 online per event, $35 day-of (non-refundable), 9 & under & adaptive FREE! (Membership req’d & must be done online). If you’re trying to qualify for USASA Nationals from our series, you need to do at least 2 of 3 of our Central Oregon USASA Slopestyle comps to meet the criteria [best 2 of 3 for our SS (Slopestyle), and best 2 of 3 for our HP (Halfpipe)…and these requirements also determine our Regional Champs].

> USASA MEMBERSHIP Req’d for all riders and is done ONLINE ONLY:
www.USASA.org (7 yrs old & under FREE. 8-9 yrs old $50. 10+ yrs old is $125 and covers the entire season, the opportunity to compete in other USASA comps, as well as USASA Nationals. 1 Day Memberships are $35 and are done online and based upon limited availability.)
TAKE NOTE: 18 yrs and older (and if turning 18 yrs old mid-season) must now go through SafeSport per new regulations by the USOC, so 1 day and day-of memberships are NOT available for these riders anymore. This also means you must renew membership and go through the new process sooner than later (we have had several athletes not be able to compete because of unforeseen things that surfaced that required additional paperwork, etc.). Thanks for adapting to these newer changes. (See below for additional details, and be sure to follow the steps laid out when becoming a USASA member.)
> COMPETITION INFO: We’ll have Practice/Inspection, Rider’s Meeting, then go into our Heats for both series. Each rider will have 2 runs per heat (and there’s 2 comps in 1 day), and it’s best run that counts. We drop participants according to the Start Lists.
> Mt. Bachelor WAIVERS are included for Central Oregon USASA when you register online for our events. (Check if Hood Series is the same.)
> DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS: Bring your USASA Bib to the ticket counter and you’ll get a “racer ticket” for $69.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport (Center) was created under the law, “Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017.” The Center provides education and requirements consistent with the law, and this training is part of those requirements. The training is required by the Center, the USOC, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, and USASA.
How often is the training required?
After the initial training, which may take up to about 90 minutes to complete, annual refreshers are required which generally take about 20 minutes to complete.
What happens if the training isn’t completed before and athlete turns 18? The training is required for USASA memberships and to compete. Adult athletes will not be allowed to be on a USASA venue or participate until it is complete.
