Central Oregon USASA Rail Jams 1 & 2 at Woodward Bachelor are here on Jan 20!!! Lots of changes + adaptions we ALL need to make this year thanks to COVID, so be sure to read everything and ask if you have questions (after you read đ). Our events are for all ages and stages of riding, from beginners to advanced, and our focus is on safe, fun, innovative competitions. Weâre still going to have Regional Champions at at the series level, so your points matter (must do both events per discipline to qualify for that discipline), and thereâs a potential they may be used for National rankings. âď¸
> REGISTRATION: Opens 2 weeks prior to every event, and closes 72 hrs before the event. It is ONLY ONLINE this year, and weâre limited to 40 competitors. fill quickly, so get on it! There are no day-of registrations or changesâŚsorry!
If you didnât get (or read) our extremely important season intro email with the 21 bullet points, nor see the same Team App update(s), make sure you have your correct info in your USASA Membership and Team App Profile (cell + email). Hereâs our seasonâs 21 bullet resource:
https://mailchi.mp/d91274ca7f40/cousasaendofyear2019-7152025đ˛ REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: cos.usasa.org
> TAKE NOTE: No one is allowed on course unless they registered online for our USASA event(s), are a current USASA member, itâs their heat, and they passed the health screen (an email that goes out each day after registration closes) that has to be completed. The above also includes any volunteers, coaches, judges and media (who must also be approved by the Series Director).
> EVENT LOCATION: Rail Jams: Tubing Park, Mt Bachelor.
> EVENT COST: $30 online per event (non-refundable). Membership reqâd & must be done online. If youâre trying to become a regional champ, you need to do both events to try and qualify. (Please let us know if finances are difficult.)
> Check-in + Day-of Registration: There is NO lodge check-in or day-of registration. No changes can be made day-of either. Simply show up for your practice/heat and drop-ins on time, and please keep parking (reservations only or drop-off), traffic & weather in mind!
> AWARDS for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age group. Weâre still figuring options out since we canât have on-hill gatherings.
> PRIZES & SWAG is still being figured out tooâŚstay tuned!
> USASA MEMBERSHIP Reqâd for all riders and is done ONLINE ONLY:
www.USASA.org. Make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system or it will mess up your season. Also make sure your series says: âCentral Oregon USASAâ if Mt Bachelor / Bend, OR area is considered your home mountain or you consider COUSASA your home series. Lastly, make sure ALL the check marks are green, and that youâve clicked on the necessary boxes and links needed in order to complete it (same with event registration).
> COMPETITION INFO: Weâll have Practice/Inspection, then go into our specific Heats. Rail Jams will be a controlled jam format so everyoneâs runs gets judged and itâs more fair. Slopestyle and Halfpipe will have 2 runs per heat, and itâs best run that counts. We drop participants according to the Start Lists in most cases.
> RIDERâS MEETINGS: These are mandatory and online this year at 7 pm on Mondays. Weâll send out the Zoom link to your membership email (again, make sure itâs correct and you donât miss this or you will not be able to compete.) PS â Weâll have a drawing for each event for a sweet prize at our Zoom Riderâs Mtngs. Weâll also have a required mini-Riderâs Mtng (for athletes/coaches only) day-of before practice starts.
> Mt. Bachelor WAIVERS are included for Central Oregon USASA when you register online for our events.
> DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS: Bring your USASA Bib to the ticket counter and youâll get a competition ticket for $56 (13+ yrs old), and $46 (6-12 yrs old).
> PARKING: You must either have a secured parking reservation, or you need to get dropped off. Be sure to get the parking figured out for these Wed. events ASAP. Mt Bachelor releases inventory every Monday at 6 pm sharp, hundreds of reservations turn over each evening, and additional inventory â weather and terrain footprint permitting -Â is released by Mt. Bachelor at 6 am each morning. Please plan ahead for this.
> HEALTH SCREENS: Youâll receive an email each day after registration closes that will have a hyperlink to do your online health screen. â ď¸ You HAVE TO complete these in time, in order to be able to compete, so make sure you have the correct email in your USASA membership: https://cos.usasa.org/membership
> BIBS: If you missed the multiple pickup times, please schedule with the Series Director prior to the event: 541-797-9969. This will be your bib for the rest of the season. If you have a bib from another series, please let us know what #, and that will then be your permanent bib. There will be a $20 deposit for bibs, which will be returned at the end of the season if/when you return the bib. If you donât have your bib at the comp, then you canât competeâŚso please donât forget it!
> IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Due to regulations and policies, masks (above the nose) will need to be worn at all times at Mt Bachelor; no exceptions. We need to keep the 6â physical distancing at all times on course too.
> SPECTATING: Due to COVID guidelines and congregating concerns, no spectator areas or gatherings are allowed. This follows state and Mt. Bachelor COVID policies.
> NO LODGING: Layer up because the lodges are not open for hanging out or stashing bags. They will have bathrooms open, and monitored, timed and limited warming available at the lodge too.
> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack your lunch and hydration, or buy from the food carts (if available on Wed?) that are up there in the parking lot. (No backpacks are allowed on the inside of the course this season.)
> RTPP: Please read it here:Â https://usasa.org/covid-19Â (Note: State &Â local regulations, and mountain policies supersede our USASA RTPP Guidelines).
> TEAM APP: This is our primary way to communicate, esp day-of. Please sign up (and ensure your cell # AND email are updated), pick our series, and add a note why (competitor, parent, etcâŚsince membership isnât public). https://centraloregonusasa.teamapp.com/
> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & PROCESSES: Events will be split up into specific heats, but this season itâs also to eliminate any congregating at the start and finish areas. You have to be diligent about showing up on time like never before so you donât miss your practice and drops. We must maintain the 6â distancing, and we will have a zig zag type of entry into the courses to help with this (with a volunteer course monitor and coaches helping). Rail Jams will probably have 3 different lines for those featuresâ lines you want to drop in on. Take Note: In general, no one will be allowed on course until it is their heat or practice time.
> SAFESPORT: Any Competitors, volunteers, coachesâŚIf youâre 18 yrs and older (and/or if turning 18 yrs. old mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (This can take time for the background check to go through, so donât delay.) Please follow all the instructions and get things done and sent promptly if youâre planning to be on course. (See below for additional SafeSport details, and again, be sure to follow the steps laid out when becoming a USASA member.)
