Reminder: 1 week before
Ends: 03:30pm (duration is about 6 hours)

Join us for our only Central Oregon USASA (snowboard) Slalom + Giant Slalom 1 & 2 comps at Woodward Bachelor!!! Did you know this is where it all began with USASA…and look at where free riding is today! These are the best events to really work on your edging, which in turn effects every aspect of your snowboarding. As you know, lots of changes + adaptations we ALL need to make this year thanks to COVID, so be sure to read everything and ask if you have questions (after you read 😆). Our events are for all ages and stages of riding from comfortable beginners to advanced, and our focus is on safe, fun, innovative competitions. We’re still going to have Regional Champions at the series level, so your points matter (must do both events in most disciplines to qualify for that discipline), and there’s a potential they may be used for National rankings. ✔️

> REGISTRATION opens 2 weeks prior to every event, and closes SATURDAY at MIDNIGHT before the event. 🌐 It is ONLINE ONLY this year, and we’re limited to 40 competitors, and spots have been filling up! There are no day-of registrations or changes…sorry!

⚠️ Read our extremely important season intro email with the 21 bullet points or check the same Team App update(s), make sure you have your correct info in your USASA Membership and Team App Profile (cell + email). Here’s our season’s 21 bullet resource: https://mailchi.mp/d91274ca7f40/cousasaendofyear2019-7152025

📲 REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: cos.usasa.org

> TAKE NOTE: No one is allowed on course unless they registered online for our USASA event(s), are a current USASA member, it’s their heat, and they passed the health screen (an email that goes out each day after registration closes Saturday midnight prior to the events) that has to be completed. The above also includes any volunteers, coaches, judges and media (all must first be approved by the Series Director).

> EVENT LOCATION: Midway trail, Mt Bachelor (it’s between Pine Marten and Red Chair lifts, and park at West Village)

> EVENT COST: $20 online (discounted rate!) per event (non-refundable). Membership req’d & must be done online. If you’re trying to become a regional champ, you need to do both events to try and qualify. (Let us know if finances are difficult.)

> CHECK-IN & DAY-OF REGISTRATION: There is NO lodge check-in or day-of registration. No changes can be made day-of either. Everything is online. Simply show up for your practice/heat/time trial on time, and please keep parking (reservations only or drop-off), traffic & weather in mind!

> PRIZES & SWAG: Everyone will get swag day-of. We’ll update you on our Zoom Rider’s Mtng. (Thanks to the below sponsors…and more coming onboard…so go “Like,” “Follow”and interact with them please)!

> USASA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED for all riders and is done ONLINE ONLY: www.USASA.org. Please make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system or it will mess up your season. Also make sure your series says: “Central Oregon USASA” if Mt Bachelor / Bend, OR area is considered your “home” and you consider COUSASA your “home series.”

> RIDER’S MEETINGS: These are MANDATORY and online this year, at 7 pm on MONDAY. We’ll send out the Zoom link to your membership email (again, make sure it’s correct and you don’t miss this or you will not be able to compete.) after registration closes. We’ll have mini-Rider’s Meetings on course at practice. PS – We’ll have a drawing for a sweet prize at our Zoom Rider’s Mtngs too!!!

> WAIVERS: Mt Bachelor’s are included for Central Oregon USASA when you register online for our events.

> DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS: Bring your USASA Bib to the ticket counter and you’ll get a competition ticket for $56 (13+ yrs old) and $46 (6-12 yrs old).

> PARKING: You must either have a secured parking reservation (www.mtbachelor.com or the ParkWhiz app), or you need to get dropped off. Be sure to get the parking figured out for these Wed. events ASAP. Take Note: Mt. Bachelor releases inventory every Monday at 6 pm sharp, hundreds of reservations turn over each evening, and additional inventory – weather and terrain footprint permitting – is released by Mt. Bachelor at 6 am each morning. Please plan ahead for this.

> HEALTH SCREENS: You’ll receive an email after registration closes that will have a hyperlink to do your online health screen. You HAVE TO complete these in time, in order to be able to compete, so make sure you have the correct email in your USASA membership: https://cos.usasa.org/membership (You can also just login and complete this after registration closes too.)

> BIBS: If you missed the multiple pickup times, please schedule with the Series Director prior to the event: 541-797-9969. This will be your bib for the rest of the season. If you have a bib from another series, please let us know what #, and that will then be your permanent bib. There will be a $20 deposit for bibs, which will be returned at the end of the season if/when you return the bib. If you don’t have your bib at the comp, then you can’t compete…so please don’t forget it!

> IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Due to regulations and policies, masks (above the nose) will need to be worn at all times at Mt Bachelor; no exceptions. (Pace yourself if you’re hiking the course please). We will need to keep the 6’ physical distancing at all times on course too.

> SPECTATING: Due to COVID guidelines and congregating concerns, no spectator areas or gatherings are allowed. This follows state and Mt. Bachelor COVID policies.

> NO LODGING: Layer up because the lodges are not open for hanging out or stashing bags. They will have bathrooms open, and monitored, timed and limited warming available at the lodge too.

> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack your lunch and hydration, or buy from the food carts that are up there in the parking lots. (No backpacks or layers of clothes/gear that the athletes may shed are allowed on course this season.)

> RTPP: Please read through our USASA Return To Play Plan for our recommended guidelines this season if you haven’t already; it’s something you and your athlete need to be familiar with: https://usasa.org/covid-19 (Note: State & local regulations, and mountain policies supersede our USASA RTPP Guidelines).

> TEAM APP: This is our primary way to communicate, esp day-of. Please sign up (and ensure your cell # AND email are updated), pick our series, and add a note why (competitor, parent, etc…since membership isn’t public). https://centraloregonusasa.teamapp.com/

> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & PROCESSES: Events will be split up into heats, but this season it’s also to eliminate any congregating at the start and finish areas. You have to be diligent about showing up on time like never before so you don’t miss your practice or drops. We must maintain the 6’ distancing, and we will have roped off lines for the entries into the courses to help with this (with a volunteer course monitor and coaches helping). Take Note: In general, no one will be allowed on course until it is their heat or practice time. See below for more details.

> SAFESPORT: Any Competitors, volunteers, coaches…If you’re 18 yrs and older (and/or if turning 18 yrs. old mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (This can take time for the background check to go through, so don’t delay.) Please follow all the instructions and get things done and sent promptly if you’re planning to be on course. (See below for additional SafeSport details.)

> Have questions? Let us know in the comments or message us.
