Join us for our first competition of the season: Central Oregon USASA Slopestyle 1 at Woodward Bachelor/Mt. Bachelor on Saturday, January 7!!! Courses are built with features for beginner to advance riders to encourage all ages, abilities to participate. You must Register Online, and that closes at 5 pm Thursday. Our series offers Rascals, Para and Kekoa FREE entry! USASA Membership required…but FREE for Rascals and Ruggies! See below for all the details…

Are you looking to qualify for Nationals, or do you want to try and become a Regional (Series) Champion? Well, your points count and matter, and you’ll need to do at least 2 of the 3 Slopestyle events to try and qualify for USASA Nationals as our Regional Champion in Slopestyle for your age division. USASA will use your 3 best results in each discipline for National’s qualifications. ✔️

> REGISTRATION is open for all of our comps, is ONLINE ONLY, AND closes the Thursday at 5 pm before that weekend’s events. We’re not able to do day-of registrations or changes, so please plan ahead. (If you’re 18 or over, or will be this season, please see Safesport info the below.)

📲 REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: http://bit.ly/COUSASAEvents2023

> TAKE NOTE: No one is allowed on course unless they registered online for our USASA event(s), and are a current USASA member (any volunteers needing to be on-course must also be US Ski & Snowboard Members, including volunteers, coaches and officials). Everyone must also be approved by the Series Director first (including any media).

> EVENT LOCATIONS: Mt. Bachelor Events Arena (next to the Pine Martin Chairlift in the West Village Lodge (main lodge) area, looker’s right (looking uphill) of the Pine Martin Chairlift.

> EVENT COSTS: $35 online per event (non-refundable). Membership required & must be done online. If you’re 18 or older or turning 18 this season, please see info below. (Please let us know if finances are difficult, or if you know anyone who is struggling who wants to compete.)

> CHECK-IN & DAY-OF REGISTRATION: There is no lodge check-in or day-of registration. Everything is online. Simply show up for your practice, heat, and/or time trial on time, and we’ll take roll before heats, and do a mini-rider’s meeting. PLEASE keep traffic & weather in mind (we do get both).

> AWARDS/MEDALS for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age group. Awards are usually about an hour after the last rider in the last heat drops. We’ll update you more on our mandatory Zoom Rider’s Meeting about the process.

> PRIZES & SWAG: We’re striving once again to be able to give out swag to every competitor day-of. We’ll update you more on our Zoom Rider’s Meeting. (If you know of any people or businesses that would like to partner with us, please let us know so we can send our packet. Thanks again to our sponsors…and go “Like,” “Follow,” tag and interact with them and us since they’re paying attention).

> USASA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED for ALL riders (and volunteers and coaches needing to be on-course), and is done ONLINE ONLY: https://usasa.org/members/new Also, please make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system or it will mess up your points and the system. Please make sure your series says: “Central Oregon USASA” if Mt. Bachelor / Bend, OR area is considered your “home” and you consider COUSASA your “home series.”

> RIDER’S MEETINGS: These are ONLINE and MANDATORY, usually at 7 pm on Thursday’s before that weekend’s events. (Parents encouraged to attend with their riders.) We will have a drawing. We’ll strive to send out the below Zoom link to your membership email after registration closes (again, make sure your USASA membership email is correct, that and you don’t miss this or you won’t be able to compete).
ZOOM Meeting ID: 535 296 5595
Passcode: COUSASA (all upper case)

> MINI-RIDERS MEETING: On-course, day-of in the morning, after practice, before heats, and we’ll do a quick roll call.

> WAIVERS: USASA’s are included with your membership and registration. Mt. Bachelor’s are included with a valid pass product, which is required for all registered riders and volunteers.

> DISCOUNTED DAY PASSES for COMPETITORS & COACHES: Mt Bachelor is offering USASA competitors and certified coach lift tickets for: $62 (13+ yrs old), and $52 (6-12 yrs old) via a voucher code the mountain provides us that we send to you upon request (it’s a little different for our volunteers). Minors must have a parent/guardian complete this process for them. Simply text Adam for your code if you’re a registered USASA member competitor, coach or our volunteer. THE PROCESS: You’ll need to go online www.mtbachelor.com and either create a profile (OR login to your existing profile), input the code and sign the waiver. We’ve been asked to ensure that these are in compliance with the designated use, and to not attempt pass fraud.

> BIBS: We will be using the same bibs as last season for all USASA events. If this is your first USASA competition and you don’t have a bib, please coordinate with me (Adam) for a pick up in town if you live (or will be in the Bend area). Please bring your bib to every event so you can get on course. There’s a $20 CHARGE FOR LOST / FORGOTTEN BIBS.

> SPECTATING: Is allowed, but must be outside the course. Please respect the roped off areas.

> VOLUNTEERS: We’re always looking for volunteers, so please text Adam if interested 541-797-9969. We will also need you to get your volunteer membership at: www.USASA.org as well.

> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack your lunch and hydration, or buy from the lodge or food carts up there (Have you tried Corn Dog Co. or Dump City Dumplings food cart?).

> TEAM APP: This is the main way we communicate, esp day-of. Please sign up (AND ensure your correct cell # AND email are updated). See below for instructions.

> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & FLOW: In general, we’ll have an open practice in the morning for all competitors, then have the mini-Rider’s Meeting, then go into the heats. When there’s time, we strive to have a short warm-up practice after Heat 1 for Heat 2 and so on. Be diligent about showing up on time (or even a little early to be safe) so you don’t miss your practice or drop times. We also upload the Competition Schedule on Team App.

> SAFESPORT: Any competitors, volunteers, coaches, officials…If you’re 18 years and older (and/or if you’re turning 18 yrs. old mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (This can take time for the background check to go through, so don’t delay). Please follow all the instructions when registering on www.USASA.org, and get things done and sent promptly if you’re planning to be on course and/or compete. (See below for additional SafeSport details, and again, be sure to follow the steps laid out when becoming a USASA member.)
