Join us for our only Halfpipe competitions of the season at Woodward Bachelor/Mt. Bachelor on Saturday, February 25! This will be a super pipe (22’), and all ages, abilities and backgrounds welcomed to compete. You have to register online, and that closes at 5 pm on Thursday. Our series offers Rascals, Para and Kekoa FREE entry! USASA Membership required…but FREE for Rascals and Ruggies! All competition details below…and did you know these comps are Monster Army “Paid 2 Podium” events? https://www.monsterarmy.com/

Are you looking to qualify for USASA Nationals, or do you want to try and become a Regional (Series) Champion? Well, your points count and matter, and you’ll need to do both Halfpipe events to try and qualify for Nationals as our Regional Champion in Halfpipe for your age division. USASA also uses your 3 best results in each discipline for National’s qualifications. ✔️

> REGISTRATION is open for all our comps, is ONLINE ONLY, AND closes the Thurs at 5 pm before that weekend’s events (if not sold out before which we’ve been seeing). We’re not able to do day-of registrations, so plan ahead. (If you’re 18 or over, or will be this season, see Safesport info the below.)

📲 REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: http://bit.ly/COUSASAEvents2023

> TAKE NOTE: No one is allowed on course unless you’re a current USASA member (anyone needed on-course must also be US Ski & Snowboard Members, including volunteers, coaches and officials). Everyone must also be approved by the Series Director first (including any media).

> EVENT LOCATIONS: Mt. Bachelor Halfpipe, looker’s left of the Pine Martin chairlift, near the West Village Lodge (main lodge) area. (Halfpipe is a semi-walkable distance.)

> EVENT COSTS: $35 online per event (non-refundable) per competition. If you’re 18 or older, or turning 18 this season, please see Safesport info below. (Let us know if finances are difficult, or if you know anyone who is struggling who wants to compete.)

> CHECK-IN & DAY-OF REGISTRATION: Generally, there is no lodge check-in or day-of registration…unless you need a BIB, and we’ll have a volunteer in the West Village Lodge with those (BIB info below). Almost everything is online now. Simply show up for the Zoom Meeting on Thurs, then your inspection/practice and heats on time, we’ll take roll and then do a mini-rider’s meeting too. PLEASE keep traffic & weather in mind (we do get both…2-3 hr traffic at times!).

> AWARDS/MEDALS for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age group. Awards are usually about an hour after the last rider in the last heat drops. We’ll update you more on our mandatory Zoom Rider’s Meeting + Team App day-of about the times. Take photos + videos of our comps and awards and tag us: @centraloregonusasa, @usasasnow and our sponsorship partners…and use #cousasa!

> PRIZES/SWAG: We’re striving once again to be able to give out swag to every competitor. Know anyone or businesses that would like to partner with us? Please let us know so we can send our packet. Thanks again to our sponsors…and go “Like,” “Follow,” tag + interact with them and us (since they do pay attention).

> USASA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED for ALL riders (and volunteers and coaches needing to be on-course), and is done ONLINE ONLY: https://usasa.org/members/new Also, please make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system or it will mess up your points and the system. Please make sure your series says: “Central Oregon USASA” if Mt. Bachelor / Bend, OR area is considered your “home” and you consider COUSASA your “home series.”

> MANDATORY RIDER’S MEETINGS: 5:45 pm Thursday Zoom Meeting. (Parents & coaches encouraged to attend with riders.) There’s two drawings! Please TAKE NOTE of the below Zoom link + don’t miss the Rider’s Meeting or you won’t be able to compete.

ZOOM Link: http://bit.ly/COUSASAZoomRidersMtng2023
ZOOM Meeting ID: 535 296 5595
Passcode: COUSASA (all upper case)

> MINI-RIDERS MEETING: On-course at the top of the course, day-of, in the morning, after practice, before heats, and we’ll do a quick roll call.

> WAIVERS: USASA’s are included with your membership and registration. Mt. Bachelor’s are included with a valid pass product, which is required for all registered riders and volunteers.

> DISCOUNTED DAY PASSES for COMPETITORS & COACHES: Mt Bachelor offers USASA competitors and certified coaches (unless you bring 10 or more athletes, then let us know) lift tickets for: $62 (13+ yrs old), and $52 (6-12 yrs old) via a voucher code that YOU MUST PICK UP DAY-OF FROM THE WEST VILLAGE, lower level. You’ll then take the voucher to the Mountain Gateway ticket area for your discounted day pass (it’s a little different for volunteers). Minors must have a parent/guardian complete this process for them. PLEASE ALSO GO ONLINE to: www.mtbachelor.com and either create a profile (or login to your existing profile), and sign the waiver(s) to save time day-of. Volunteers get a code from us and input that code for that specific competition day, day-of, in your Bachy profile online. Mt. Bachelor asked to ensure that these vouchers are in compliance with the designated use, and to not attempt pass fraud.

> BIBS: If you’re a brand new USASA Member and haven’t competed yet, you get a BIB. IF you’re an existing member and can’t find your bib, lost your bib, or forgot your bib, USASA requires you to purchase them on the Team App, and we get notified when this transaction goes through. PLEASE let us know ahead of time (on the Rider’s Mtng) IF you need to purchase another BIB, and show proof to the volunteer in the West Village, lower level the morning of, for pick up. USASA has a $20 FEE for LOST/FORGOTTEN BIBS. Thanks for your understanding.

> SPECTATING: Is allowed, but must be outside the course. Please respect the roped off areas.

> VOLUNTEERS: Text if interested: 541-797-9969. We’ll also need you to get your volunteer membership at: www.USASA.org.

> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack a lunch/hydration, or buy from the awesome food carts (or lodge) up there [American Slider Co. (tell them you’re with USASA for a 10% discount!), Corn Dog Co. or Dump City Dumplings by Red Chair Lift].

> TEAM APP: THE MAIN WAY WE COMMUNICATE, esp day-of. Sign up + ensure your correct cell # AND email are updated. See below for instructions.

> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & FLOW: In general, we’ll have an inspection run, then open practice to all competitors in the morning, then the mini-Rider’s Meeting before each heat. HP 1 is in the morning. Depending on the amount of competitors, HP 2 usually starts early afternoon. We encourage you to do both (most end up wanting to, and we can’t change that day-of). When there’s time, we strive to have a short warm-up practice before heats. You’re judged by the best run out of 2 runs per HP comp. Show up on time (or early to be safe) so you don’t miss your practice/drop times. We also upload the Competition Schedule on Team App.

> SAFESPORT: Competitors, volunteers, coaches, officials…if you’re 18 years and older (or turning 18 mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (This can take time for the background check to go through, so don’t delay). Follow all the instructions when registering on www.USASA.org, and get things done and sent promptly if you’re planning to be on course and/or compete. (See below for more SafeSport details, and follow every step laid out when becoming a USASA member.)
