Join us for our only Halfpipe competitions of the season on Saturday, February 24 at Mt. Bachelor by BlackStrap…and it’ll be a 22’ super pipe! This is 2 comps in 1 day, and we‘ve been having either sold out, or almost sold out events, so get registered! Events are for all ages, abilities & backgrounds. USASA Membership is required (but FREE for Rascals and Ruggies)! Please read below for ALL the competition details:

> NATIONALS: Looking to qualify for Nationals, or want to try and become our Regional Series Champion? Your points matter, and you’ll need to do both Halfpipe events in our series to try & qualify for Nationals as our Regional Champion for your age division. Also, USASA uses your 3 best results in each discipline for National’s qualifications. Regional Champions get an invite to Nationals. ✔️

> REGISTRATION is open for all of our events, is ONLINE ONLY, and CLOSES WEDNESDAY MIDNIGHT before that weekend’s events (if it’s not sold out prior, which does happen). Sorry, no refunds: http://bit.ly/USASARefundWaitlistPolicy23-24 Also, no day-of registrations, so plan ahead. (If you’re 18 or over, or will be this season, see the req’d Safesport steps + info below.)

📲 REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: http://bit.ly/COUSASAEventRegistration2024

> WAITLISTS: New this season are Waitlists! You can view how this works here: http://bit.ly/USASARefundWaitlistPolicy23-24

> TAKE NOTE: No one is allowed on course unless you’re a current USASA member (anyone needed on-course must also be US Ski & Snowboard Member, including volunteers, coaches & officials). Everyone must also be approved by the Series Director first (including any news/media). And yes, we do need volunteers for every event, so let us know.

> EVENT LOCATIONS: All events are at Mt. Bachelor. Halfpipe is above West Village Lodge (main lodge) area, looker’s left of Pine Martin Chairlift.

> EVENT COSTS: $45 online per event (non-refundable), unless you’re a Rascal, Para or Kekoa divisions, then it’s FREE entry. (Let us know if finances are difficult, or if you know anyone who is struggling who wants to compete.)

> CHECK-IN & DAY-OF REGISTRATION: There is no lodge check-in or day-of registration, UNLESS you need a bib (see below), or you’re a volunteer or coach and need the voucher, and we’ll have a volunteer in the lower level West Village Lodge with that info. Almost everything is online now. Simply show up for the MANDATORY Zoom Meeting on Thursday, then your inspection/practice and heats on time, and we’ll take roll and do a mini-rider’s meeting on course too. PLEASE keep traffic & weather in mind (we do get both…1-2 hours of traffic sometimes).

> AWARDS/MEDALS for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age group. Wear bibs for awards. Awards are usually about 45 min after the last rider in the last heat drops. We’ll update you more on our Zoom Rider’s Meeting + Team App day-of. Take photos+videos of our comps and awards, and please tag us: @centraloregonusasa, @usasasnow and our sponsorship partners…and use #cousasa in posts.

> PRIZES/SWAG: We strive to give out swag to every competitor. Know anyone or businesses that would like to partner with us? We lost one of our biggest partners this year unfortunately, so help be the eyes and ears for us! As a nonprofit, it’s a tax write-off, so please let us know so we can send them our packet.

> USASA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED for ALL riders (& volunteers & coaches needing to be on course), and is done here: https://usasa.org/members/new Also, please make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system or it will mess up your points & the system. Please make sure your series says: “Central Oregon USASA” if Mt. Bachelor/Bend, OR area is considered your “home” & you consider COUSASA your “home series.”

> MANDATORY RIDER’S MEETINGS: Athletes must be on these or they can be removed from the Start List with no refund. The Zoom meeting will be at 5:45 pm on THURSDAY before that weekend’s events. (Parents/coaches encouraged to attend with riders.) We also have a prize/drawings! Zoom link below, and don’t miss it if you want to compete.

ZOOM Link: http://bit.ly/COUSASAZoomRidersMtng2024
ZOOM Meeting ID: 535 296 5595
Passcode: COUSASA (all upper case)

> MINI-RIDER’S MEETING: At the top of the course the day-of our event in the morning, before inspection/practice.

> WAIVERS: USASA’s are included with your online membership & registration. Mt. Bachelor’s are included with a valid pass product, which is required for all registered riders & volunteers.

> DISCOUNTED DAY PASS PRICES for COMPETITORS & COACHES: Mt. Bachelor offers USASA competitors & certified coaches (unless you bring 10 or more athletes, then let us know) lift tickets for $62 that only competitors/coaches are allowed to purchase by going here: http://bit.ly/MtBachelorCompetitorTickets2024 (Mt. Bachelor asked to ensure that these vouchers are in compliance with the designated use, and to not attempt pass fraud.) Once you complete the purchase, you’ll get a barcode emailed to you & you can print your tickets at their ticket Pick Up Boxes on-site at the mountain. Minors must have a parent/guardian complete the online process for them. *Volunteers get a voucher code from us & use that code day-of on their Mt. Bachelor profile online for that day, and use the Pick Up Boxes too.

> BIBS: The bibs are new this year & every member gets one, and they must be fully worn to get on course. Already have a new bib? PLEASE REVIEW YOUR BIB # with the start list ASAP & text us if it’s not correct. If you haven’t rec’d a bib yet, pick-up is day-of in the lower level West Village Lodge with a volunteer from 8-9 am (make sure it’s the same # as we have on the Start List). No old bibs allowed. IF you can’t find your bib, lost it, or forgot it, USASA requires you to purchase them on the Team App for $20, and we’re notified of this transaction. IF you purchase a bib and need it for our comp, show proof to the volunteer in the West Village Lodge the morning of for pick up.

> SPECTATING: You can see the Halfpipe from the lodge, and spectating is allowed, but must be outside the course. Please respect the roped off areas, stay off course for safety reasons, and please stay away from the judge’s area.

> SKI PATROL: Ski patrol is on-course at all times. The mountain also has a clinic on-site.

> VOLUNTEERS: We need less volunteers for Halfpipe, so text Adam if interested: 541-797-9969. You’ll also need your volunteer memberships at: www.USASA.org.

> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack a lunch/hydration, or buy from the awesome food carts (or lodge) up there. We’ll also have some BEGOAT drinks.

> START LISTS: Are usually ready for the Zoom Rider’s Meeting. PLEASE ensure your Bib # is correct (let us know ASAP).

> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & FLOW: In general, we have a mini-rider’s mtng, then an inspection run, open practice (sometimes based on heats), then heats. We encourage you to register for both Halfpipes (most end up wanting to anyway, but we can’t add anyone day-of once registration closes Wed. at midnight). When time allows, we have practice before each heat. Show up on time (or early to be safe) so you don’t miss your practice/heat or you’ll get a DNS (Did Not Start). We’ll also revise the Competition Schedule once registration closes.

> SAFESPORT: Competitors, volunteers, coaches, officials…if you’re 18 years & older (or turning 18 mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (The background check takes time, so don’t delay). Follow all the instructions when registering on www.USASA.org, & get things done & sent promptly if you’re planning to be on course and/or compete. (See below for more SafeSport details, & follow every step laid out when becoming a USASA + USSA member.)
