Sat, 22 Feb from 8:00am to 4:00pm

Mt. Bachelor
Boardercross Ski Cross 1 & 2 (BXSX) is RESCHEDULED for Sat, Feb 22! Can’t make the new date and were in the original BXSX 1 & 2? Please cancel your registration in LiveHeats BEFORE registration closes, and request a refund from us. We encourage everyone to stay committed to the comps since you’re even more prepared and we can get racin’!

BXSX 1 & 2 means 2 events in 1 day. Kids who don’t register for BOTH, always want to do both day-of, and it’s NOT possible. Events are for all ages & abilities. USASA Membership required (but FREE for Rascals & Ruggies)! Our series also provides FREE entry for: Rascal, Kekoa & Para! Read ALL details below:

> NATIONALS: Trying to qualify for Nationals? Your points matter! It appears we can’t have regional champs by having two events in one day unfortunately, but do both for more points and fun. USASA also uses your 3 best results in each discipline for National’s qualifications. Regional Champs get an invite to Nationals. ✔️

> PLEASE REVIEW THE USASA RULEBOOK 603 EQUIPMENT + MORE REGARDING SUITS, PADDING, and SKI CROSS HELMETS must be certified under both ASTM 2040 and EN 1077 (class A – hard sided), no exceptions.

> REGISTRATION is ONLINE ONLY, & CLOSES Thursday at NOON before that weekend’s events (if not sold out prior). No refunds per USASA’s refund policy (see registration notes for details). No day-of registrations. If 18 or over, or will be this season, see the req’d Safesport steps + info below & don’t delay since it takes time.

📲 REGISTER for EVENTS HERE: www.centraloregonusasa.org (scroll down to the “register for our events”)

> COURSE ACCESS: No one’s allowed on course unless you’re a registered athlete for our comps, and/or a current USASA member (anyone needed on-course must also be US Ski & Snowboard Member, including volunteers, coaches & officials). You must also be approved by the Series Director (including any news/media). We need lots of volunteers for BXSX, so let us know.

> EVENT LOCATIONS: Mt. Bachelor. Races are in the Rainbow Adventure Zone area, looker’s left when on the Rainbow chairlift, by Sunrise Lodge.

> EVENT COSTS: $47 online per event (non-refundable), and $45 if 2 or more family athletes, unless you’re a Rascal, Para or Kekoa divisions, then FREE entry. (Let us know if finances are difficult, or if you know anyone who is struggling who wants to compete.)

> CHECK-IN & DAY-OF REGISTRATION: There’s no lodge check-in or day-of registration, UNLESS you need a bib (see below), or you’re a volunteer or coach & need the voucher. We’ll have a volunteer in the lower level of Sunrise Lodge with these. Almost everything is online now. Simply show up on time for your inspection/practice + heats, we’ll take roll and do a mini-rider’s meeting on course, and then get after it. Keep traffic & weather in mind (we get both…1-2 hrs of traffic sometimes).

> BIBS: Same bibs as last year, & every brand new member gets one. Bibs must be fully worn on the outside of your clothes. Already have a bib? PLEASE REVIEW YOUR BIB # with the START LIST once loaded & text us ASAP if it’s not correct. If you haven’t rec’d a bib yet, pick-up day-of at Sunrise Lodge with a volunteer from 8-9 am (again, make sure it’s the same # as we have on the Start List). No older bibs beyond last season, and no Nationals bibs allowed. IF you can’t find your bib, lost it, or forgot it, USASA offers them to purchase for $20 on the Team App, and we’re notified of this transaction if bought under our series/team. IF you purchase a bib and need it for our comp, show the email proof to the volunteer in the lodge the morning-of.

> AWARDS/MEDALS for 1st-3rd place for each age group, approx 1 hour after the last rider in the last heat drops. Bibs req’d to be worn for medals/podium. We update award time on our Team App day-of. Take photos + videos of our comps & awards & please tag us: @centraloregonusasa, @usasasnow + our sponsors in posts.

> PRIZES/SWAG: We strive to give out cool swag to every competitor. Know anyone or businesses that would like to partner with us? We need your help to be the eyes and ears out there with us! As a nonprofit, it’s a tax write-off, so please let us know so we can send them our packet.

> USASA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED for ALL riders (& volunteers & coaches needing to be on-course), and is done here: www.centraloregonusasa.org (scroll down to the “new or renew membership”). Also, please make sure you only have 1 membership in the USASA system, and you’re in the correct group, division and gender, or it will mess up your points & the system (and this can’t be changed day-of). Make sure your series says: Central Oregon USASA if Mt. Bachelor/Bend, OR area is considered your “home” & you consider COUSASA your home series.

> MANDATORY RIDER’S MEETINGS: We can’t emphasize how many hours it costs us to have to follow up, answer questions and fix issues from registration because people aren’t on these Zooms. So we’re buckling down. If you’re a “no-show” on these (we take roll), you’ll be a “no-go” at our comps with no refund. Again, athletes are REQUIRED to be on these in order to compete. The Zoom meeting is at 5:30 pm on THURSDAY before that weekend’s events. (Parents & coaches encouraged to attend with riders.) We also have a drawing! TAKE NOTE of the below Zoom link (same login for the whole season) + don’t miss it if you want to compete.

ZOOM Link: http://bit.ly/COUSASABXSXSlopeZoom

Passcode: COUSASA25 (upper case)

> MINI-RIDERS MEETING: Usually at the top of the course the day-of our event in the morning, prior to inspection/practice.

> WAIVERS: USASA’s are included with your online membership & registration. Mt. Bachelor’s are included with your valid pass product, which is required for all registered riders & volunteers.

> DISCOUNTED DAY PASS PRICES for COMPETITORS & COACHES: Mt. Bachelor offers USASA competitors & certified coaches (unless you bring 10 or more athletes, then let us know) lift tickets for $65 for only competitors/coaches to purchase. Let us know if you need one so we can get you the code. (Mt. Bachelor asked to ensure that these vouchers are in compliance with the designated use, & to not attempt pass fraud.) Once you complete the purchase online, you’ll get a QR code emailed to you that you use on the ticket scanner at the pick up boxes at Mt. Bachelor. Scan & it’ll print your pass. Minors must have a parent/guardian complete the online process . *Volunteers request a voucher code from us & use that day-of on their Mt. Bachelor profile online (for that specified day), & also use their emailed QR Code at the Pick Up Boxes.

> SPECTATING: BXSX spectating is allowed, but only outside the course. Respect roped off areas, stay off the course for safety reasons, and please stay away from the finish area.

> SKI PATROL: Ski patrol is on-course at all times. The mountain also has a clinic on-site.

> VOLUNTEERS: We need lots of volunteers for BXSX, so text Adam if interested: 541-797-9969. We’ll also need you to get your volunteer memberships at US Ski & Snowboard and with USASA.org if you’ll be around the kids.

> FOOD & DRINKS: Pack a lunch/hydration, or buy from the awesome food carts (or lodge) up there. We’ll also have some BeGOAT drinks.

> START LISTS: Are usually ready for the Zoom Rider’s Meeting. PLEASE ensure your Bib # is correct and you’re in the correct class (freeski or snowboard).

> COMPETITIONS, HEATS & FLOW: In general, we do a mini-rider’s mtng, an inspection/slip run, open practice, and then race. Competitors are bracketed based on National rankings. If you’re not ranked, it’s random. Please register for both comps since we can’t add anyone once registration closes). Show up on time (or early to be safe) so you don’t miss your practice/heat/race or get a DNS (Did Not Start). We’ll also revise the Competition Schedule as needed once registration closes.

> SAFESPORT: Competitors, volunteers, coaches, officials…if you’re 18 years & older (or turning 18 mid-season) you must complete SafeSport per the USOC. (The background check takes time, so don’t delay). Follow all the instructions when registering on www.USASA.org, & get things done promptly if you’re planning to be on course and/or compete. (See SafeSport details & follow every step laid out when becoming a USASA + USSA member.)
