Hello Central Oregon USASA Riders, Family and Friends! The first (snowboard comps: SL/GS 1 & 2) are upon us this Sat, and to make the most of it (go here for Comp details: https://goo.gl/zqvZ88), we’ve teamed up with some peeps and will be offering a few workshops and clinics this season to assist. The first one is to learn more about performance training – specifically for mountain athletes – this Thursday, 6-7 pm with Dewayne of Epoch Ascent, with one of the goals being: “Train hard to arrive ready!” I have two of my own kids working with Dewayne currently and it’s been incredible…so let’s share more about it:
Epoch Ascent’s mountain performance training is structured as a strategic and foundational fitness cycle for mountain sports athletes and is appropriate for those preparing for their mountaineering objectives. At this customized workshop, targeted specifically for our youth freeskiers and snowboarders, we’ll discover how focused, age appropriate and healthy training will not only prevent injuries because your body will be in better shape (stronger, faster, harder), but how you’ll be able to recover more quickly from injuries, build confidence and be mentally prepared as a (youth) rider…whether you’re competing for the first time ever, or it’s your 1000th time!
More Details: • Date: Thursday, December 7, 6:00 pm (1 hour) • Location: 62860 Boyd Acres Rd, Bend • Cost: $10 (per family) • RSVP: Training@EpochAscent.com (space is limited) • After the workshop, Dewayne will follow up with any parents/riders interested in doing customized, 12-week, in-season, dryland, ski/snowboard, cycle group sessions. We will have discounted rates for these as well and he can go over any details with you.
Epoch Ascent is a versatile gym located in Bend, Oregon that provides custom built programs and training courses structured to meet the needs of mountain sports athletes, mountain professionals, and outdoor sportsmen and sportswomen with seasonally dependent objectives.
PS – Did you sign up for our free Team App that we use during the season for competition updates, event notifications, live scores, results, start lists, waivers and more? Go to (or download the app): www.TeamApp.com, search for Central Oregon USASA, request access, include a note why (parent of athlete, etc.). This is also good for the riders to have if they have a phone. Include both your cell and email for best results!
PPS – Didn’t get a chance to buy our series’ swag?!? Great for Christmas presents and ALL proceeds go back to our nonprofit! Let us know what size(s) so we can see if it’s available: Hoodies ($40 – premium red material), trucker hats ($10 – black), Hydro Flasks ($20 – lava, titanium & coral blue), BlackStrap beanies ($10 – gray or black).
PPPS – THANKS AGAIN and here’s to another AMAZING SEASON! Don’t forget to Follow, Like, Tag and Hashtag all your social media (#cousasa), tag and mention our sponsors with the sweet swag you’ll win that they stoked us out with (on/off the mountain activities), and we’ll see you next week!
